COT:
When I AM”

When the night presses on and the dawn seems so far away Shoulders burn, feet throb and you long for the sweet break of day.

When your mind is hazy and your thoughts seem unclear… And failing looms as your most secret and darkest fear.

When your body aches and lies to your mind “No more… I can’t go another step”
These are the moments when the truth becomes self-evident.

When I realize I’m not as strong as I thought I was,
but my brothers are there – I AM

When I realize I’m not as quick as I thought I was,
but my brothers are there – I AM

When I realize I’m not as positive as I thought I was,
but my brothers are there – I AM

When I realize I’m not as loving as I thought I was,
but my brothers are there – I AM

And when I realize I’m not as strong of a leader as I thought I was,
but my brothers are there – I AM

But dear listener, when I utter the words I AM, it is not to myself that I refer.
But rather, and most humbly, acknowledge the name of my Creator.

Through every difficult step that passes in the cold midnight air.
The truth remains the same- that He is always there.

Through triumphs and defeats, both highs and lows alike.
He is forging the bonds between men, strengthening them for the fight.

For in this world it is the flux that we share, each and every day And in our love for each other and Him, God builds His warriors a different way
