We learned 2 things during our warm-up mile mosey: 1) It’s Dominion’s 5-Year Annie, 2) the stadium gate was open. Naturally, we took advantage of both by celebrating both occasions.

Devo: “Confess” from Press On
‘If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.’ 1 John 1:8-10
Every Dad has likely experienced their young child not being truthful after they have done something forbidden. With chocolate all over their face, they deny eating all the candy bars in the house. Or, with crayon in hand, they deny the marks all over the playroom wall. Hiding from truth has been part of the human condition since Adam hiding from God in the Garden of Eden.
Sometimes it’s not even hiding from the truth. We simply ignore our sin, thinking we can handle it. We think we can stop being lustful on our own. We think we can stop being prideful on our own.
Truth is, we can’t handle our own sin. Like Adam, we can’t hide. God knows our sin. Confess to him. Prayerfully ask for His help. He desires this for us.
