Baby Shark Workout

Halloween always lends a different flavor to some tried and true favorite exercises.  This year was no exception as YHC thought, “how can I tie in a robust workout, Halloween and a scuba vacation?  YHC was pleased to have a couple of visiting pax from afar( SNB and Itchy), Graveyard  AO,  an honored Selection alumni (PYT) and a formerly AWOL brother join the usual suspects at Crypt join in the festivities. (And work was done)

Dressed in shark attire complete with a large shark head, YHC called out the following warm up:  SSHx 20 IC, TTTx 20 IC, Windmill x 20 IC.  Then follow YHC for a slow mosey of 100 yards.

Circle up for 10 Burpees OYO, 100 yard mosey, 10 Burpees OYO, 100 yard mosey, 10 Burpees, 100 yard mosey, Say hello to the Boneyard Pax, 100 yard mosey ending at the outdoor gym where there are 6 stations awaiting the 12  pax.  After assigning 2 pax per station YHC explained the exercises as follows:

Station 1: Flutter kicks / Monkey Humpers

Station 2: Hand Release Merkins / LBC’s

Station 3: Rope Squats / Battle ropes

Station 4: Pull ups / Hanging toes to bar

Station 5: Burpees / More Burpees

Station 6: Double scuba tank carry (think Farmer’s Carry) This Station functioned as the timer for all exercises,  as the assigned pax carried 2 tanks each, a designated distance and back .  Once back, all pax rotated to the next station in line.

Round 1 was timed by a medium distance tank carry and was on the front side of the Station description.  Round 2 was a much longer distance, therefore, the reps were higher, and the exercise was found on the back side of the station card.  Round 3 was the shortest distance and least number of reps, and the exercise was on the front side of the station card.  Any pax needing to modify was to do so by planking until the “switch to the next station was called”.

Running low on time, we had an Indian run, carrying the tanks, back to the front of the school and around the parking lot. ( Every 100 yards, or so, the tanks were to be passed to the pax behind them.)  Arriving back to the flag with 2 minutes to spare, YHC called Boat/ Canoe, of course, and No Help was pleased to lead the pax in Slo-mo Merkins, on his call.
