But if righteousness is our aim, we’ll try to live up to that goal with honesty. When we blow it — we stumble, sin, and rebel — we’ll be honest and penitent. We won’t put up a facade and pretend we didn’t sin or try to rationalize our sin. We will ask for forgiveness, learning from our mistakes, sins, and weaknesses. We know that even though we’re flawed, God is not finished with his work in us, so we will examine ourselves and press on toward Christ-likeness!
