D-Day and Water Balloon Artillery

If ever you need a laugh or the feel the urge to get silly, post up or Q at the Hollow. These guys know how to have a good time, and it shows. They need to work on their history trivia… but that’s easy for YHC to say… he already had the answers!

#TCLAPs to Iron Mary (and the Hollow PAX in general) for EH’ing #SadClowns around the community. YHC has named more FNG’s at The Hollow than any other AO. Well done men!!

#TCLAPs  to FNG Dangle! Brother came out for the first time and not only knew his D-Day trivia, he crushed the workout. Welcome to F3!!

Conditions: 69, clear, and slightly breezy

Why was Pas de Calais (strait of Dover) significant to the invasion of Normandy? The allies deceived the Germans into thinking the invasion would take place there, instead of Normandy – C: 20 LBC’s I: 5 burpees

At the end of D-Day, how many allies had landed in Normandy? A: 80,000 B: 150,000 C: 180,000 D: 200,000 B: 150,000 – C: 40 SSH I: 10 burpees
The PAX were split, YHC put it to a vote, the CORRECT answer won by a vote

Dog Fight / Modified Catch Me If You Can
PAX are partnered up with others with a similar sprint speed. Partner 2 is given 2 water balloons. Partner 1 takes off and completes a lap around the lighted cones in the parking lot. After a delay, partner 2 takes off. The objective is to splash your partner with one or both balloons. At the end of the lap, partner 1 does 5 burpees for each splash, and partner 2 does 5 burpees for each miss. Flapjack, and now partner 1 will chase partner 2.

Naval Artillery / Balloon Toss
Partners face each other about arm’s length apart. Partner 1 tosses a balloon to Partner 2, and 2 back to 1. If the tosses are successful, then the partners turn to face away, broad jump once, and then turn to face each other again. They then toss once each again. Repeat moving further apart until the balloon breaks. If a balloon breaks, both PAX drop for 5 burpees, then sprint to far end of lighted cones, and back to cooler to retrieve a new balloon. PAX run back to their spot, then start again from arm’s length distance.

Unsurprisingly, after about 5-6 minutes of “balloon artillery” things devolved into a water balloon fight. Fun was had by all, and most left pretty wet.

With two minute left PAX picked up as many balloon pieces as possible
