Blocks, Bricks, Tires…What Else Do You Want?

YHC is 48 and knows better than to eat certain types of foods. Well, yesterday was a mistake. Buffalo chicken and BBQ is not a good combo prior to a bootcamp. Just a word of advice to the pax still in their 30’s…life changes after 40. Eat better.

Now, to the good stuff. While thinking of a plan today, I remembered Shawshank is now equipped with some fine equipment…blocks (that’s a given), big boy bricks (new) and tires (also new). Pain stations were the plan for each and boy, they did not disappoint. I was cussing at the Q along with the other fellas by the time this was over.

You know high humidity season is here when Cheers shows up sans shirt. Topless Thursday at the Shank. That sentence will either drive our future numbers way up, or have our Shank faithfuls begin posting elsewhere. Tclaps to Cheers and H&R for heading out for SL. While they were running, YHC was busy moving tires, blocks, and bricks to the appropriate parts of a certain field. Sprinklers were off, no rain, and still the fields were wet. I love Shawshank, the one AO that defies nature and stays moist at all times.

The Thang:

Middle of field for Blocks – 5 Blockees, 10 Thrusters, 15 Tricep Extensions, 20 Curls, 25 OH Presses

Station 1 – Big Boy Bricks – 30 Lateral Raises, 30 Front Raises, 30 American Hammers (2ct with bricks) 

Station 2 – 3 flips of a tire

Station 3 – 20 V-Ups, 20 Iron Crosses, 20 Merkins, 20 Hand Release Merkins

Station 4 – 20 Squats, 20 Lunges (each leg), 20 BBSU’s, 20 LBC’s

Rotation – Blocks, Station 1, Blocks, Station 2, Blocks, Station 3, Blocks, Station 4

We made it through one full rotation plus another round of bricks. 

25 blockees, 50 Thrusters, 75 Tricep Extensions, 100 Curls, 125 OF Presses

Not a bad day. Return the toys and take a long mosey back to the flag.



Saturday – The Murph at Cryptonite or regular bootcamp at The Hollow.

Memorial Day – The Murph at Cryptonite and The Bounty – 6am start.
