A Quick Visit to Butler Hill at Urban Legend

YHC was asked by a good buddy/F3 brother of his to make sure that Urban Legend was challenging as he wanted a good workout today.  I’m not saying it was Brick, but you can guess all you want.  Thumbing through some of those in the vault, the ones with the most suck factors tended to be the ones that involved Butler Hill.  So, YHC decided to include it today.  That was probably a mistake, but too late now.  YHC had to change around his original Weinke quite a bit, because who would have ever guessed it would take 25 minutes to run up Butler Hill and do exercises at each mailbox along the way.  Good stuff today and good to see a couple of the tour guys who had early work days and couldn’t make it.  

Here’s how it went:

Conditions:  Mid-70’s with hell-like humidity

The Thang:

Mosey to bottom of Butler Hill

  • Start with 10 Merkins at first mailbox
  • At second mailbox, do 10 squats
  • Rinse and repeat pattern of exercises until you reach stop sign at Lexington Baptist
  • There are 27 mailboxes from bottom to the stop sign

At first stop sign do 10 Burpees

Lunge to second stop sign (about 1/10 of a mile)

At second stop sign, do 10 Burpees

Mosey to flag to drop off YHC’s shirt that now weighs 30 lbs

Mosey to bottom of hill in the back parking lot:

  • Bear crawl to first opening to parking lot, about 25 yards
  • Carolina Dry Docks x 25
  • Buzz Saws x 25 (think V-ups without your shoulders, legs or feet hitting the ground; keeps your core engaged)
  • Dips on curb x 25

Mosey to “smoking shelter” as Dunphy calls it:  this is the small shelter at the bottom of the double decker parking deck:

  • Incline merkins x 25
  • Decline Merkins x 25
  • Rest 30s
  • Rinse and repeat x 2

Mosey to bottom of parking deck ramp:

  • Bear crawl to top of the ramp
  • LBC x 50
  • Mosey to opposite ramp
  • LBC x 50
  • Lunge to bottom

Mosey to flag:

  • Burpees x 10
