Storming the Dunes of Snakepit

8 Pax bravely joined YHC in the gloom of Snakepit to enjoy the badly-named betterments that spawn from YHC’s swirling snakes. Speaking of snakes, YHC didn’t consider the name of the AO while deciding to tromp through the dark foliage sprouting on the sandy dunes but in hindsight there have been better ideas. The M actually found it amusing that YHC, who has a healthy fear of snakes, was roaming around in the dark at a place called the Snakepit. (In my defense running around Harbison State Forest with a headlamp in the pre-dawn hours is probably a more probable situation to encounter a snake and YHC does that more frequently!) Luckily the only snake the Pax encountered was our very own resident-beast, Snake.

Mosey over to the Sand dune

There are no better words to describe the sand dune at Snakepit than what Julep said on Twitter this morning….”Sand dunes = dark hole filled hill and lots of suck!”

Sprint down (not much of a sprint due to the uneven, clumpy dunes)

  • T-claps to the Stridelite group that invited me on a tour of the White Knoll area. YES, the hills are inescapable.
  • Kotters to Wedgie. It’s always more enjoyable with his special flavor of mumblechatter. I’m still not sure who does the counting when Wedgie isn’t there.
  • T-claps to the Snakepit Pax who always push hard to get better no matter how stupid YHCs next idea may be.
  • T-claps to Snake and Chinstrap who posted strong despite nursing injuries.
