Recently I overhead my M listening to something on social media where a Christian artist said she just identified as an artist now. That isn’t the purpose of this devo, but the purpose of it is that if you’re a Christian it isn’t something that you can be sometimes. It’s not a part-time gig. It’s part of you and is intertwined with everything that you do. It should have an impact on every decision you make. Even though your resume may not say it and you proclaimed that God is your savior and Jesus died on the cross for our sins and you’re a Christian; if you’re an engineer…you’re a Christian engineer, if you’re a doctor…you’re a Christian doctor, if you’re a cook…you’re a Christian cook.
Being a Christian isn’t a switch that you can turn on and off when it’s convenient, but unfortunately many believe it is. Which is why some cherry pick scripture that suits them, but ignores the hard truths in the bible.
So as for me, I’m a full time Christian that stumbles daily but gets back up every time. The switch is on, and it won’t be turned off. It’s who I am and will always be an all consuming part of me.
