Indulge YHC on this backstory from 12/27/13: The evening of Friday 12/27/13, YHC checked Twitter and noticed his buddy, Nathan, getting pressured into coming to an F3 workout. YHC had followed @F3Columbia for awhile, wanting to join one day but it was in Columbia and too far to drive for a workout that early in the morning. Some guy named Jason Reynolds and another named Kevin Grindstaff were all over Nathan, putting him in what we now know is called an #EH…this was graduate level EHing. So good that it’s pressure was felt 20 miles away across the dam into Lexington. YHC immediately sent Nathan a text reading something to this effect, “I’ll go if you go.” The next text was sent to Michael Elkins. He said it sounded cool but it’s early, etc, etc. We all know the excuses. The next text went to Lee Burton. He quickly responded, “Ok, gloves in hand. Let’s go.” The alarm was set 5:50am. At that time, YHC thought that was ridiculously early for a Saturday morning. Fast forward to the morning of 12/28/13. It was cold, probably 30 degrees. YHC sat in neighbor Lee’s driveway for about 5 minutes wondering if he was up. After texting him, he responded, “I thought you were kidding. I’m hunting.” As YHC is crossing the dam, Michael calls saying he’s right behind and on the way. He sees a silver Tundra just ahead of him on the dam. About 2 hours later, after R2D2 kicked our butts and Uno introduced us to #coffeeteria, StageCoach, Good Hands and Ken Doll were hooked. One year later, the 3 of us reunite at Depot as better men for a 1-year celebration Q.
Ok, enough of the sentimentals.
24 pax entered the gloom, 5 traveling from Lexington to see where it all started for F3 Lexington. Foxhole and Strut even joined in for the occasion. Thus, the term “annivergence.” While some have dubbed it the “Commom Law Q” the trio of StageCoach, Good Hands, & Ken Doll planned a beatdown for the Depot pax to remember. Thank you to the Depot/Lake Murray pax for allowing Good Hands & YHC to return. Thank you also for putting up with with our beloved #HallMonitor.
