Voices

Proverbs 13:20 “Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble.”

Ask yourself this: Who are the voices in your life? Whose voices in your life are playing a role in your thoughts and opinions? Are these voices leading you to love, discipline, joy, peace, self-control, kindness? Or, are they leading you to negativity, dysfunction, confusion, sin?

We can’t always choose who is around us but we have the ability to choose whose voices we listen to.  It would be wise to choose those voices that bear the fruit of kindness. Not the voices that bear the fruit of chaos.

Take a look at your relationships. What kind of fruit are they bearing?

Moleskin:

Normal banter of the Super Bowl and other weekend goings-on turned into a heated discussion over Costco shopping cart etiquette. The heat was turned up a little during the 2nd mile when Skidmarks took a swipe at Black Betty’s beloved Crimson Tide. Pretty funny coming from a Syracuse guy but that’s neither here nor there. It really got heated when Black Betty described a recent encounter at Costco where a connoisseur of Lucky Charms took Black Betty’s shopping cart. Black Betty contends that his cart was full and some guy just grabbed it, mistaking it for his, so he rightfully confronted him. Skidmarks believes it was an honest mistake so need to confront anyone. BB didn’t want to have to grab another cart and re-start his shopping experience. Valid point, IMO. One interesting point…BB parks his cart and then grabs items to put in his cart. Skidmarks, I believe, is correct to assign culpability to BB since he leaves his cart unintended for anyone to grab. Another oddity in BB’s Costco shopping habits is the fact he shops counter-clockwise. Fascinating discussion this AM. Both made good points. Here’s hoping Skids and BB remain friends over this.
