B-Day Q with BOMBS and a little Poker

YHC has been on a Q streak lately and didn’t want to have a repeat from the previous stops at the other AO’s.  At the request of several PAX there was a disclaimer thrown-out that there would be no bear crawls.  YHC held up his end of the bargain.  I will say I think this was the first non bear crawl BC since the Surge’s inception.  Here is what went down.

Conditions: 58 and extremely GLOOMY

Prayer

Drop and do 35 merkins OYO in honor of YHC’s new age.

Mosey to the block pile.  At the pile partner up.  Partner 1 grab a block and Partner 2 grab 2 bricks.  Mosey to the bottom of the straight away behind where we park.  YHC announced that we would be performing BOMBS.  In a pair you will complete the total reps of each workout set.  Partner 1 will perform the first workout while Partner 2 will run up the hill around the traffic circle and back, FlapJack until all workouts are performed.  Workouts were:  50 Block Burpees, 100 Overhead claps with the bricks, 150 Merkins on your block, 200 BBSU, 250 Squats with the block.  Recover.

Mosey back towards the block pile.  Everybody grab a block.  YHC pulled out a deck of cards. Each PAX will select a card and we will each perform the number of reps as shown on the card: 2, 3, 4 etc. (Jack=11, Queen=12, King =13, Ace = 14)  The exercises were Spades = Block Burpees, Diamonds = overhead press , Hearts = curls for the girls, Clubs = Kettle Bell Swings.  The reps all seemed to be high and we didn’t perform a lot of burpees until it was Heisenberg’s time to pick.  It was all down hill from there.  TIME.  Mosey to the shovel flag.

Taking the Initiative Against Daydreaming

By Oswald Chambers

Daydreaming about something in order to do it properly is right, but daydreaming about it when we should be doing it is wrong. In this passage, after having said these wonderful things to His disciples, we might have expected our Lord to tell them to go away and meditate over them all. But Jesus never allowed idle daydreaming. When our purpose is to seek God and to discover His will for us, daydreaming is right and acceptable. But when our inclination is to spend time daydreaming over what we have already been told to do, it is unacceptable and God’s blessing is never on it. God will take the initiative against this kind of daydreaming by prodding us to action. His instructions to us will be along the lines of this: “Don’t sit or stand there, just go!”

If we are quietly waiting before God after He has said to us, “Come aside by yourselves…” then that is meditation before Him to seek His will (Mark 6:31). Beware, however, of giving in to mere daydreaming once God has spoken. Allow Him to be the source of all your dreams, joys, and delights, and be careful to go and obey what He has said. If you are in love with someone, you don’t sit and daydream about that person all the time— you go and do something for him. That is what Jesus Christ expects us to do. Daydreaming after God has spoken is an indication that we do not trust Him.
