Celebrating 6 Years of F3 Brotherhood

YHC doesn’t know how 6 years passed by so quickly.  My now  6 year old was still in her crib and my 8 year old was in diapers.  I look back on all the friends I’ve made and the brotherhood I have gained in that amount of time.  F3 took a sad clown who had very few “friends” to a man whose eyes have been opened to endless possibilities of what a community of brothers could be.

This group has given me so much more than I could have imagined when I got out of bed to post that morning of 2/9/2016.  The encouragement and support have made me a better man in all aspects of my life.

I hate to make this post all about me, so see below on what we ALL accomplished today with the help of our brothers.

Exert taken from The Bible Plan: True North: Brotherhood is a necessity

Have you ever been in a group of people and felt completely alone? I have, more times than I’d like to admit. It seems like so many men follow the same pattern of community and I, for one, fell right into it. We spend years building the perfect community of close friends throughout high school and college. We find the perfect balance of people we can trust, people we can do activities with, and people who make us feel good about us. We structure our activities and possibly our education around where our friends are going to be, and what our friends are going to do. Then, life happens. We graduate, we get married, and we begin to scatter, mostly without regard to where our friends are; yet more based on the location of our jobs, our spouses, or the needs of our extended family.

Then we wake up one day, like I did, and realize I don’t have any really close friends. I don’t have anybody that I would call my “brother”. For me, it wasn’t long after awakening my need for Christ that I realized my need for Christian brotherhood.

God did not design us to be alone.  He designed us to be in community with other believers. Brotherhood is the relationship between brothers, especially brothers in Christ. So much can be learned and gained from a strong brotherhood or community of believers. It’s not only a great option for a believer; it’s almost mandatory to survive in today’s society.
