True accountability

6 Pax decided the rainy weather wasnt going to stop them from starting their day off correctly.  As I laid in bed this morning, the rain woke me up as it whipped the side of my house.  At 4:00 the weather app said 100% chance of rain, and it was right.  5:00 was supposed to be 50% chance of rain.  The men of Ambush didnt care about the weather.  They posted anyway.  That my brothers, is True Accountability.  Mumblechatter was strong today which is always joyful.

Weather: 63 degrees, windy drizzling at 5:00.

Devotional:

Be Accountable – taken from a devotional from FCA

Brothers, if someone is caught in any wrongdoing, you who are spiritual should restore such a person with a gentle spirit, watching out for yourselves so you won’t be tempted also. Carry one another’s burdens; in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone considers himself to be something when he is nothing, he is deceiving himself. But each person should examine his own work, and then he will have a reason for boasting in himself alone, and not in respect to someone else. For each person will have to carry his own load.–Galatians 6:1-5

What should we do when our friends repeatedly make the same sinful mistakes? Some would say, “I cannot change them.” Others would say, “That’s just who they are,” and even, “They will never listen to me.” However, if these friends are followers of Christ, we need to hold them to the commitments they made in Christ. They need to hold us to the same standard as well. We all need accountability. When someone feels he/she does not need it, that is the beginning of great trials ahead.

What does accountability look like? It should be with one other person of the same sex, meeting weekly, if possible, to ask tough questions that will help both grow closer to Christ. Our goal is to be like Christ, and having a friend hold us to that standard brings us closer to Him. Having an accountability partner is crucial. It will take our relationship with Christ to a whole other level.

From Scotch – Its not easy to approach someone that is in need of making a change because they are doing the wrong things consistently.  The article above says we as Christians should hold our brothers accountable.  How do you do that?  No one wants to be called out, so you have to tread softly.  I personally have taken the approach to create a few guys within F3 to be my accountability partners.  I havent asked them outright, but I do confide in them sometimes daily, with struggles I have.  My advice to you all is to develop those friendships so that you can set the stage for a brother to help you be accountable.  When I call a brother to talk to them, I am asking for advice.  I am setting the stage to hear sometimes, what I dont want to hear.  However I know I need to hear it.  As I asked above, How do you hold someone accountable that needs it.  The answer is in the scripture above.  Approach them with a gentle spirit.  Carry their burdens.  I would also add that you should care for them, follow up with them, and pray for them daily.

Great to see these 5 men this morning.  A few mental notes I took during the workout….

Penny Worth has a funny way about him.  Seems to have a dry personality and he is funny.  He is an animal, very fit.  Great mumblechatter.

Shine is a beast.  The man has jumped into this F3 thing with both feet and he has already made a name for himself.  Expecting great things from this man.

Squatter – Yuge asset to Ambush.  Strong mumblechatter, definitely a future leader of an AO if he so wishes.

Dry Socket – full on effort.  Strong chatter.  Hilarious guy that people just want to be around.

Pow Pow – very fit.  Had a 3 week flu case, admittedly wasnt 3 weeks.  Extremely happy to have him back out.
