Juice was under the weather so he threw a jump ball on the Ambush message board for his Turning Point Q . MacGruber and YHC took the opportunity to co-Q.
I pulled up early to case the joint and realized Wingman was meeting. Eight pax on site and two on the phone. Strong showing. Much respect.
The boys of Ambush know how I like a good theme, but time was not my friend on this one. We still had fun.
Thanks to the men of Turning Point for the welcome. Mumble chatter is solid with this crowd. We’ll be back for sure.

The pax each grab one of the largest chunks of rip rap this side of the Vulcan quarry. Carried it to the hill behind the school for some fifteens. Three sets. Then backpedal uphill and sprint down for three more sets of fifteens.

The quotation puts the emphasis on Christmas where the emphasis BELONGS. It belongs on the birth and the person and the mission of Christ. Christmas is first and foremost about the Incarnation. When eternal God became finite man. For what reason? To redeem us from condemnation. But why condemnation? Simply put, human beings are lawbreakers. The fundamental nature of laws is that an authority issues them and the subjects are expected to follow them. If not, then the power and the purpose of the law is undermined. And there are consequences. God gave human beings certain laws to follow. But humans have not followed those laws. Some have disobeyed them flagrantly. But ALL have disobeyed them to some degree. This puts all human beings in a state of guilt. But how can human beings atone for their own guilt? They can’t. That guilt can only be exonerated by the one who gave the laws in the first place. So God must atone for them. Which is exactly what God did. As Lewis succinctly states: The Son of God became a man to enable men to become sons of God. Or, put in another way, We had a debt we couldn’t pay—Jesus paid a debt he didn’t owe. Christmas celebrates the BIRTH of Christ. Which made possible the DEATH of Christ. And it’s the DEATH OF CHRIST on our behalf that makes our REDEMPTION a possibility. There are many reasons one might celebrate Christmas. But this is the PRIMARY REASON. It’s good to keep this in mind lest the 3 other reasons replace the most important one. The reason for celebration is also put very clearly in the Bible in Luke 2: ”But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid, I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Christ, the Lord.’”
