The Smoker, what dat???

So as our rabbit turned turtle Mr. Wilson’s foot still won’t allow him to do anything but smoke peeps on his BMX, it just meant that there was an opening on the Q sheet.  And as our running of The Smoker was nixed in lieu of the annual puntback game w/ Tomahawk on Thursday (i mean cause who wouln’t rather kick around the ole pigskin instead of getting hammered with a beast of an AMRAP).  I didn’t want the pax who had been looking forward to the smoker to feel deprived so YHC put together a little Ode to da Smoker Q this morning.  I think it turned out real good or real bad depending on your outlook.  As always it a pleasure to Q these guys and see work put in, missing some mumblechatter this morning but maybe the beatdown had a part in that.  Here’s how it went…

The Thang:

Ode to da Smoker begins.  Each pax will start Round 1 w/ bricks in tow and at corner 1 of practice field do 20 Squats, run to far corner and complete 20 Merkins, run across field and at that corner 20 2ct Flutter Kicks.  Then since we have no burpees or stairs this morning lets take some trips up and down Hite Hill x 6 to get the blood really pumping, on to 50yd line and complete 20 LBC’s keep it going to last corner and pump out 20 2ct Am Hammers.  Then back to starting corner for Round 2, same route but now drop the bricks and take that block along for the ride.  Block squats x 20 @ corner 1, corner 2 decline merkins x 20, corner 3 skull crushers x 20, back to Hite Hill runs (no blocks), 50yd line Curls4girls x 20, corner 4 OH Presses x 20.  Now that you see the routine, AMRAP this alternating between round 1 and round 2 exercises until time is called.   Not quite The Smoker but not far off either, all in all i believe no doubt pax got better in the Smokehouse gloom this morning.

“Do not I fill heaven and earth?” declares the Lord. Jeremiah 23:24

God asks, “Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?” (Jeremiah 23:24). There is both an encouragement and a warning in His question.  The warning is that we cannot hide from God. We can’t outrun or fool Him. Everything we do is visible to Him.  The encouragement is that there is no place on earth or in the heavens where we are outside the watchful care of our heavenly Father. Even when we feel alone, God is with us. No matter where we go today, may the awareness of that truth encourage us to choose obedience to His Word and receive comfort—He watches over us.
