Return of the Cheeseman

It was a great morning at the Crypt, and I was excited to be back to Q. I’ll be celebrating my 3-year F3 anniversary on Thursday at Graveyard but made a point to get to Crypt this week since my very first F3 post was SUPPOSED to be at Crypt (a misunderstanding of Thumbs Up’s invitation caused me to post at Graveyard instead).

I was proud to be joined this morning by a number of men who have been a BIG part of my F3 Journey. The Crypt has always been a second home for me in F3, and my travels over the past couple years have caused me to be away from this great AO more than I should have. I don’t realize how much I miss this place until I come back. The Crypt is home to some great men who truly inspire me and define the term HIM.

After leading the 2nd Wind study earlier in the morning (thanks to Thumbs Up for the invite), I was ready and willing to lead the PAX in what was designed to be a good old-fashioned slobberknocker. Based on the reactions as I called exercises (it’s always a good sign when Rocking Chair laughs at your stupidity as you call something out), I think my mission was accomplished. In the end, we most definitely broke a sweat (thanks in large part to the intense humidity), covered just shy of two miles, did more than enough TPlank merkins and even got to bear crawl the bridge in cadence for old-time’s sake.

For those who require even more details, here’s how it all went down…

mid 70s and SUPER humid

Mosey to top of Reaper Hill
* There was immediate discussion about why we stopped at 14. The answer wasn’t made official until the end.
LBAC X 15 IC (front and back)
* Chandler arrived a few minutes late and the reps went from 14 to 15. Coincidence?

Bear Crawl across bridge IC
* The in-cadence bear crawl has long been one of my favorites to lead – A. because it is a challenge and 2. because of the reaction it gets from the PAX both when it starts AND as it goes on and on and on.

* Ballboy – Vasectomy Friday Morning
(The irony of a guy nicknamed Ballboy having a vasectomy escaped me this morning. It’s one of my life’s greatest regrets that I didn’t catch this and therefore wasn’t able to point it out during COT. Perhaps that’s a good thing, though, and what little respect these guys have for me remained intact – until they read this, of course.)

As always, it’s an honor to stand among and lead these men. See you out in the gloom again soon!
