BOM/Devo

Jesus met a tax collector, asked him to follow him, and the tax collector did.  The tax collector, Levi, then held a banquet for Jesus and Jesus ate with a large crowd of tax collectors.  Pharisees questioned this action, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?”.

Then those great words in red, “Jesus answered them, ” It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.  I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance” (Luke 5:31-32).

How lucky are we not Jesus is not only willing to come to us sinners, but willing sit and eat with us so that we may be fed.  Imagine how lost this world would be if he only spent time with the righteous, and ignored the sinners?  It would be similar to a doctor only spending time with those that are healthy and ignoring the sick and broken.
