Big numbers deserve Big numbers

As YHC monitored the ever constant message board chatter, he learned of the potential for multiple FNG’s for our Tuesday dose of betterment.  I guess they had so much fun at our first annual 9/11 Never Forget Challenge that they decided they wanted more, so more they got!  I was kinda expecting 2 but to my delight an additional long time EH’d guy showed as well.  Three FNG’s, don’t think we’ve had that since the early days at Smokehouse.  Tclaps to those Pax for EH’ing hard and getting some new guys out.  With that said the FNG numbers weren’t the only big ones as we had a nice full crew of 26 to grace our presence.  Maybe they came because the weather was great maybe due to the no running month but no matter the reason YHC was very happy to see the big numbers return.  Today’s beatdown went old school, back to the early days of DORA’s and BOMBS and BLIMPS, these staples hadn’t been dusted off in quite so YHC decided now was the time to bring em back.

The Thang:

Grab two bricks, partner up and SLOWSEY back to the opposite end of the practice field (as YHC was reminded of the no running deal).  Cones were set up on the goal line and at the 20 yd line and DORA 1-2-3 (with bricks in hand) was explained.  How do we do DORA with no running, well Partner 1 does exercises while Partner 2 bear crawls down and back, flapjack until numbers are met. 100 Merkins 200 LBC’s 300 Squats.  The bear crawls did slow things down a bit and YHC knew based on the time the BOMBS and BLIMPS wouldn’t be possible so he allowed our elder statesman Shankapotomus to choose the second routine.

BLIMPS were next on the agenda. B-Burpees x 50 L-Leg lifts x 100 I-Imperial Walkers x 150 M-Merkins x 200 B-Big Boy Sit-ups x 250 S-Squats x 300.  BLIMPS were also done with your partner with lunges down and back in between.  We didn’t quite get finished with the spelling but from the mumble chatter I don’t think most pax minded.  We’ll catch up on any missed letters and BOMBS next time.
