Ten Min workout

15 PAX ignored 23 degree weather for a whole lotta Merkins!

Conditions:

23 degree and clear.

Tha Thang:

COP Warmup
Squats x 15 IC
SSH x 15 IC
Through The Tunnel x 10 IC
Imperial Walkers x 10 IC
Mosey to the track…run 2 complete laps. If you finish first, double-back and pick up the 6 so that everyone finishes together.
Grab a block and head back to the parking lot.

Ten Min:
This exercise is developed to get PAX to do more pushups…correctly.
Using the block as your base, do 10 pushups each minute. After the warmup, we had 30 minutes. That comes to 300 pushups. 30 sets of 10. However, after much bemoaning, after the 23rd set, we switched to curls and alternated.

Total count: 270 Merkins, 30 curls.

In order to help the time go by and to keep the PAX engaged, we started a fun conversation about what was the weirdest thing you’ve eaten. There were some interesting responses. It ranged from bull testicles to rhubarb. Grasshoppers, crickets, rattlesnake, squirrel brains, scrapple (a northern thing; think hot dogs in mush form) and snails. I know what you’re thinking, “how is rhubarb weird?” A just question. You’ll have to ask Fool’s Gold someday about that one.

We then moved on to favorite foods. There were the norms: BBQ, steak, brisket, pizza, and butter pecan ice cream. For one, who shall name nameless, the chicken waffle and gravy sandwich sounded really good. It was the description that left us scratching our heads. For those that were there and heard it: sorry, not sorry. It was perplexing and surprising; and yet funny as hell at the same time.

I enjoy getting to know the PAX more. These are the guys we workout with multiple times per week. This fraternity we call F3 is a close-knit group of men. I challenge each of you to get to know the man working out next to you. I paid attention to everyone this morning and I remember each PAX and where they were standing. What their favorite foods were and what they thought was weird to eat. Maybe a silly topic, but friends know a lot about each other.

And each one of these men are my friends.

Announcements:

– Come out for a run group!
– Continue to pray for Nutmeg’s father. Though he’s doing better, he still needs much needed recovery.
– Keep encouraging each other. Tag a friend you haven’t seen in a while to come back out to bootcamp.
