10 PAX met in the gloom of #Strut this AM, including an FNG and a visitor from Area 51 (thanks for stopping by Madison!) as an awake and well-prepared Q arrived on the scene. One year ago yesterday, YCH got up at 4:30am (quite possibly the earliest of his life) and made his way to meet a parking-lot full of guys he didn’t know, to do this crazy thing called F3. Scared. Nervous. Tired. Excited. Something prompted him to snap this picture. Something knew he would be hooked. SomeONE knew this was going to change his life. This was not an accident.
Stepping out of character for a moment, I could go on for days about the impact that F3 has had on my life, but it’s not about me. It should never be about me. If/when I do take time to share the depths of how this has changed who I am, it will ONLY be in hopes that someone else will be encouraged by it. That someone else will have the strength to take a step toward change. But today is a day that we should all take the time to really stop — and thank God for the freedom to plant that flag.

Moleskin:
Great work today! This was easily one of the most difficult workouts I have ever Q’d — especially wearing extra weight. It was awesome to have a Charlotte regular join us, Madison, out of Area 51. You’re welcome any time brother. And an FNG to share the experience that Loose Screw and I shared one year ago. Great work Ding-a-ling! (FNG Frank Berry » FrankenBerry (too easy!) » who was that 70s singer last name Berry? » Chuck Berry » Ding-a-ling!)
After having switched Q dates with Loose Screw for Tuesday, in a lapse of memory YCH failed to acknowledge in the COT that today was a far more important day than just an anniversary celebration. So say a prayer for the families of those who lost their lives that fateful day, those who have served our country, and those who continue to serve so that we can be free to plant our shovel flags and pray beneath them in this great nation.
Prayers:
Stones recovery.
Walker and family.
Family of the Lexington County children who lost their lives.
