11 PAX posted for a humid mid week run. Our fearless leader, Quickbooks (who apparently was ridiculed by his fellow professors for having a mullet) developed a plan for us to train for 13 weeks leading up to the Cheech 10K in Lexington. November 16th, 2019 is the race and will feature a 5K, 10K, and half marathon. It’s an F3 running competition and the boys at RAMBLE like winning running races. Monday we did speed work with Bundy and now it was YHC’s turn for a progressive run. The objective is to progressively get faster as the runner is working his way along the course. So ok, 6.27 miles with some hillage.
Conditions: 78 and ridiculously humid. It’s August in Columbia.
Leave SPC on Devine headed for Ott.
Right on Ott and a Right on Heyward (affectionately known as Fannie AVE).
All the way to the bottom of Heyward and Main. Right on Main to the Statehouse.
Here’s where slow guys like YHC altered the route just a touch. The route continues on to the Statehouse and around dumping you out on Sumter. Right on Sumter to the Horseshoe. YHC was so far behind and exhausted from the Main hill, shortcut was taken at Hunter Gather and to the Shoe!
Run through the Horseshoe to Capstone and take a right on Barnwell.
Left on Green and dive down into 5 Pts.
Right on Harden and Left on Devine. Take it back to the house!
6.27 miles if you did the entire route.
All were trying to rush along so we could get the kids to the first day of school. Announcements were short but effective and the prayer was all over the place because YHC was mentally and physically fried!
- Q School will occur in Sept and not August 24th as previously announced. Stay tuned for more details.
- Please keep Garnish’s family in your T and P’s. They welcomed Frances Anne “Sauteed” Kahle into the family last night (8-20-19).
- BATTLE and Spur converge this Saturday (8-24-19) at Spur. 0700 – 0800. Trying to get the new Prez out for a workout.
