Have YOU actually ever met anyone named McLovin?

12 pax ambled out of bed and into the gloom to fight off the sad clown syndrome. Arriving at the AO, they were treated to their choice of 4, 5, or 6-mile routes plucked from the Amble archives.

As FNG Jason Lockhart was introducing himself to the pax in the COT, he reminded me that I used to get him into 5-Points bars back in the day. Yet another detail from the younger Robber days that I don’t recall, and another reason while I got on the wagon several years back. At any rate, 2-A-Day began to interrogate the FNG about the quality of his fakie back then, and offered up McLovin… That’s how it’s done.

Prayer requests from Seeker for students coming back to school, from 2-A-Day for the families of fallen comrades he served with on the anniversary of their deaths, and for Mrs. Robber.

Update: Just heard from the boss; the doc diagnosed her with Graves disease, which sounds much worse than it actually is. She’s had thyroid problems for the last couple of years, but now she has some answers and a course of treatment. Thanks for the prayers.

  1. Robber, awesome BB. After my Palmetto Pig lunch I need to rewind and show up this morning, sore back or no sore back to make room for my lunch.

On the Graves Disease, my wife has the same. Diagnosed shortly before we got married. It freaked me out at first but, you’re right, It really is not a big deal, at least it hasn’t been for her. It was ten years ago so they may do things differently now than they did then but she had one radiation procedure to essentially “kill” her thyroid and now takes a pill everyday that supplements the hormone her thyroid doesn’t make. It’s been adjusted through her pregnancies. She’s had 4 100% healthy children since then. Please let us know if we can help.

  2. Thanks Chaser, that’s good to know. It’s taken over a month to get in to see a specialist, but this morning the doc took one look at her and diagnosed her.

  3. Robber, you and the M are in my thoughts and prayers. I am glad you have some answers and a course of action!

I also like that the backblast did not even reference the rain. Good man.

    1. Thanks SubPrime. I doubt you’ll mention the rain tomorrow either, as it will be a beautiful, sunny morning. Katie is going great. Just happy to have a prognosis…
