13 PAX gathered to celebrate the 5th Anniversary of Hammer. YHC hoped to give the AO a fitting birthday celebration in the form of a true beatdown.
Conditions: 70 and breezy. Not bad
20 SSH IC for a warm up, then mosey to the playground.
One of the true signs of a major event throughout the years is the presence of a blimp (#blimpworthy), and today’s workout was no exception. Fitting for the 5th anniversary festivities, BLIMP involves 5 reps of 5 exercises, done for 5 rounds. Burpees, Lunges, Imperial Walkers, Merkins, Pull ups, then a lap around the bus loop (since it’s an oval, if you squint at Strava it kind of looks like a blimp).
Next, since time flies when you’re having fun, the PAX completed a set of clock merkins (12, 3, 6, 9, 12, rotating around the clock).
Not to be forgotten, YHC also wanted to celebrate Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final, which undoubtedly all the PAX stayed up to watch. So a short mosey over to the baseball field brought 7 of Diamonds. At home plate, right field, center field and left field the PAX completed a called exercise in multiples of 7s. 7 burpees, 14 squats, 21 LBCs.
To finish, a mosey back to the flag for one last round of clock merkins and BOM. Happy 5th, Hammer. While YHC isn’t a true Hammer OG, enough change has been seen (AO location, regulars) to know that the things that stay the same are hard work and the constant presence of all 3 Fs by the PAX on any given Tuesday/Thursday. Founded on the belief of Iron Sharpens Iron, the men of Hammer continually push each other to #getbetter. Here’s to many more years of #pushingtherock at Hammer.
