Devo:

Luke 21:1-4

As Jesus looked up, he saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins. “Truly I tell you,” he said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”

It is not not how much you give to God’s work but how much you sacrifice. The poor widow giving 2 coins made more of a sacrifice than the rich who gave large gifts. Instead of looking at how much you are giving perhaps you should look at how much wasn’t given. The sacrifices are not about money alone. Think about other gifts you can give in doing God’s work: Time, Sleeping in, Witnessing, Talent?

Is there something you are holding back from God?
