DEVO

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. 2 Timothy 3:16

If I went to a guitar lesson with Eric Clapton, I wouldn’t be telling him how to tune or strum the guitar. If I was in the car with Jeff Gordon, I wouldn’t be telling him how to take the turn. Similarly, God knows more than we do. He’s been there. He’s seen the past and He knows the future. So often we have the audacity to back seat drive God with our silly opinions about things. It’s just like dad when you see your son who’s nine say, I know what to do. You say OK, go ahead, have at it big guy. You know more, you know where it is now and where it’s going. But, because he doesn’t want to submit to your authority he goes for it. When a father sees his son take his advice and follow it, the father is pleasured.  It gives the father great pleasure because he sees his son trusting him and moving on his words that are truth, rather than the son saying to himself maybe yes maybe no, I think this. Humble yourself before your perfect Fathers word. If life were a best ball tournament, who would you like as your golf partner?
