Eight pax opted for Foxhole this morning in spite of yesterday’s warning Tweet. Plus there were several other good Q options this morning across the region! Way to go Foxholers! So on the eve of the day when we celebrate the beauty and majesty of this great Nation, we celebrated the beauty and majesty of Foxhole’s greatest feature… The stairs!
Your uber-handsome stud of a QIC made the decision last week that we have not spent enough time with the stairs lately (and by “we”, I mean “me”). So in complete haste and utter overreaction, I put together a doozie of a Q involving nothing but stairs. And in keeping with my M.O., it looked so much better on paper than it did in real life dripping from my chin as I swallowed back little acidic bits of the english muffin I had knocked out just a few minutes prior.
It was hard! We ran a lot of stairs! Several pax mentioned seeing stars in the process. and one pax who will remain nameless (Spano) stripped off layer after layer trying to escape the unavoidable weight of the 198% relative humidity. I think I even heard mention of potentially doing stairs with nothing on but a strategically placed tube sock. Hence the title of the BB, Stairs, Stars, and Strippers.
Thankfully, things did not digress to that point. But I’m equally as thankful that this was not a Saturday 60 minute boot camp, because I have no doubt that our nameless stripper pax (Spano) probably would have ended up in his birthday suit (and with a lifetime ban from District 5 property).
Great work by all. It really was a tough one, but we’re all that much better for it.
PS… Good luck getting up from your desk at work after you’ve been sitting at your computer for about an hour. It will hit you by about 10:00 am!

- Mosey to bottom of stairs
- Imperial Walker x 15
Independence Day:
Each set of stairs is independent from the other sets. So we’ll run to each… independently. By doing some stair suicides.
- Up the stairs to the first platform, return
- Up to the second platform, return
- Continue to each platform & return all the way to the top (and back)
The 4th of July “You’ll Cry”: (Partner up)
Round 1:
- Partner 1- up the stairs for 5 burpees & back
- Partner 2- LBC (Modify to Ray Charles)
- Switch & Continue for 7 minutes.
Round 2:
- Partner 1- up the stairs for 5 burpees & back
- Partner 2- alternate 10 Merkins/10 Raise the roof
- Switch & Continue for 7 minutes
Round 3:
- Partner 1- up the stairs for 5 burpees & back
- Partner 2- toe taps on curb
- Switch & continue for 7 minutes
Round 4:
- Partner 1- up the stairs for 5 burpees & back
- Partner 2- Squats (modify to monkey humpers)
- Switch & continue for 7 minutes
Kick & Pick:
- With legs rendered pretty much useless by this point, we will change it up for the last 5 minutes.
- Each pax will kick the soccer ball as far as they can. All pax sprint to ball and do exercise of kickers choice.
- 15 merkins (Shakespeare)
- 20 Flutter Kicks (Meter Maid)
- 5 speed merkins while ball is in air and Queenie does JACK SQUAT! (Queenie)
- 5 Burpees (Plan B)
