Greatest Hits – Vol. 1

Five uber studsman beastsAdonis-like… guys with fairly impressive Dad Bods made their way to Foxhole this morning for the best Wednesday workout any Thursday boot camp has ever seen!  Today kicked off the first in a series of workouts that will focus on the many crowd-pleasing hits that the best AO in the midlands has to offer.  Today we focused on the East side of campus, which includes the majority of the athletic facilities… the football stadium, track, STAIRS, and basically everything beyond the big iron gate.  Today was leg heavy, with more running than your typical T/TH bootcamp (that’s right Shakespeare, I realize it is Thursday without your having to remind me), but this was not by accident.  Some of the most useful spots in this area of FH call for a bit more cardio, but fret not, future volumes in this box set of suck will surely call for much less running and much more of the whole Eastern European / power lifting / arms-so-smoked-you’re-sort-of-scared-to-drive-home type of beat down.  Sound good??? Great… I knew you’d see it my way!

So there you have the layout for the next several PB Qs… We’ll be hitting the best spots in each quadrant of our vast wasteland of pain.  And though music was involved today, this compilation has more to do with everything FH has to offer than the “music” Tory decides to spin for us (if you want to call Taylor Swift “music”).  So be sure to rest up and get to bed early next time… Because Time/Life infomercials ain’t got nothing on these chart toppers.  The East side tour was just the beginning!

On a side note, you would be lying through your teeth if you said you didn’t fall into one of two categories as you read through this BB.  With all this “east side” talk, I can almost guarantee you were singing one of the following under your breath:

  • South Side – The 1999 “smash hit” from Moby and Gwen Stefani

“Here we are now, going to the east side.

I pick up my friends and we start to ride.

Ride all night, we ride all day.

Some may come and some may stay.”

  • No Diggity – Blackstreet circa 1996

East side to the west side,
Pushin’ phat rides, it’s no surprise.
I can’t get her out of my mind (well)
I think about the girl all the time (well well)…”

I could be wrong, but those two have to be the most likely suspects when you hear East Side repeated over and over.  But maybe it’s just me… Just smart, handsome, beautiful, Best Q in the Region, perfect me.

Read on to see how it went down.

The Power of Your Words

“Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.” Proverbs 16:24

  • How we use our words to build up others, and silencing the words that tear people down, say much about our walk with Christ.
  • If you want healing deep in your soul, find something encouraging to say about those near you.
  • As followers of Christ, we not only have the responsibility to be gracious, we have the responsibility of showing others grace.
  • We show grace through our words and how we use them, talking to and about, others.
  • Today, find one person and encourage them!
