Cheers 2 Year Anniversary Q

It was 2 years ago on February 8, 2016, that YHC decided to ditch work early and go to the gym that afternoon. I also went to the gym early normally, so this was rather unusual. Little did I know, that small decision would become monumental in a chain of events that improved my life. That same day, E2 also decided to ditch work and go to the gym. He saw me there and after trying to hide behind a machine or two, he finally gave up and came over to talk to me. He told me that he usually goes to his workout group on Tuesdays and told me I should go. My brother had been on me for at least a year about F3, so I knew that’s what it was, but I let E2 go ahead and tell me about it anyway. Finally, I said “sure, sounds like fun.” The next morning when I got there, I felt at home. The guys were excited to see me and were ready to go ahead and name me. Dunphy was the Q that day, as well as the co-AOQ, but I had no idea what these things were at the time. Dunphy proceeds to give me the biggest Beatdown of a workout that I can ever remember having, more so than those hot August workouts for football practice, or hell days, back in the day. I remember that morning very vividly, so much so that I proceeded to make that my Q workout 1 year later. I walked, I stopped to rest, I was the Six in all aspects, but I loved it. Now, 2 years later, I know what it means when our brothers say, “it’s more than s workout.” I am truly blessed to be a member of this organization. There are way too many of you that have encouraged me over the last two years to thank personally. All I can say is that if you have ever posted at Shawshank, you have impacted my life more than you know.

Mosey to Shank Hill:

Lunges x 10 each leg at bottom
Bear Crawl to top
Merkins at top x 20 OC
Rinse and repeat x 3

Mosey to lower soccer field:
Line up on line and partner up
-P1 bear crawls to middle light pole and runs back, while P2 does Carolina dry docks until P1 returns.
-Parnters switch places and conduct same exercises
-P1 now lunges to 2nd light pole while P2 squats, they switch, then conduct same exercises.

Indian Run around Complex back to Shelter:

People’s Chair x 2 minutes

Under shelter:

Flutter kicks x 25 IC
Crunches x 100 OC
Six inches for 1 minute


2/24: Dam to Dam relay
2/24: Help needed at Palmetto Place children’s Home, morning and afternoon shifts
3/4: 4 year convergence at Boneyard, all AOs closed
