All Hollows Eve

16 West-Lexington faithful made their choice – to take the DRP on All “Hollows” Eve. 3 for Stridelite over to the Awful Waffle and away we go! YHC’s first Q at The Hollow and the PAX did not disappoint. We’ll do it again sometime.

Welcome, Disclaimer, and BOM

The Windup:
*Jog it on over to a virgin grassy knoll that according to lore, no PAX has ever burpeed upon… circle up for:
-SSH X 25 IC
-Merkin X 10 IC
-Squarts X 20 IC
-6-CT Burpee X 10 IC

Aaaand The Pitch:
PAX remain in the circle, about 10 yards off the deck of cards. PAX1 bearcrawl to the center and turn over the top card and bearcrawl back to your spot. Rinse/Repeat in order around the circle for 3 or 4 complete rotations. Perform exercises as numbered on the card. Face cards 10 and Aces 11.
-Diamonds: Merkins + Plank while next PAX turns their card
-Clubs: Squats + Al Gore while next PAX turns their card
-Hearts: SSH + Mosey in circle yelling “over here!” at the poor guy trying to bearcwarl back to his place, after PAX turns their card
-Spades: Burpee + Low Crawl while next PAX turns their card

PAX kept up the pace and had a pretty good time with it.

The Changeup:
Nice of H4T to swap the CAT crew out for a few rounds while he took the ‘Hollers over to the parking lot for what looked like a lot of running back and forth.

The Closer:
Parking-space-trace our way back to point of origin.

Prayer Requests:
*Melton family, lost daughter (20) in a tragic auto accident last week

Devo: Bear Much Fruit
John 15:1-4
1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.”

Many applications can be drawn from this classic proverb. The first: YHC has long-observed the pruning of The Hollow as the counts grow problematic and new AO’s are born from the site. It’s Addition By Division.

The second: When we feel like we’re going through more than our share of struggles, let’s remind ourselves that we are being pruned by the hand of God, and that new vines will grow from the initial scars.
