Last minute Bricks

The call went out last night that the Q sheet was wide open at The Roost for the remainder of the year. Having been focused on training for the Bourbon Chase YHC decided to pull an old weinke and modify as we went along this morning. 7 Pax came along for the journey.

No new faces so we got right to it.

Grab two bricks and head down to the bottom of Suicide hill

Warmup

SSH x 20

TTT X 15

LBC x 20

LRC(forward and reverse) x 10

Each man grabbed their bricks and the work out went something like this:

Shoulder fly x 15

Bent over row x 15

Overhead press x 15

Squat with bricks pressed out in front until YHC called time(crowd pleaser)

Lunge to first light pole

Sprint to first speed bump and do 10 Peter Parkers

Sprint to the top bump and do 25 LBC’s

Mosey to the bottom and repeat. The shoulder exercises were increased by 5 reps. So the second round we did 20 each and the third round we did 25 each. Mumble chatter was at a premium during the rounds.

After the third set we grabbed the bricks and headed to the parking lot by the arena for a stop at the outermost lightpole for some Merkins.

Picked up our bricks and headed to the front of the school and grabbed some wall for a sit. After a few seconds of bricks overhead and out front we headed to the amphitheater.

20 Decline Merkins

10 step ups each leg

Mosey back to the brick pile and cut one lap around the track.

Devotion“You go nowhere by accident.

Wherever you go, God is sending you.

Wherever you are, God has put you there; He has a purpose in you being there.

Christ, who indwells you, has something He wants to do through you where you are.

Believe this and go in His grace and love and power.”

At the conclusion of Dr. Halverson’s funeral in 1995, he reminded his congregation for one last time, giving the benediction himself that he had prerecorded.

Although we may not be where we want to be, Pastor Batterson reminds us that God can use us right there- even if we’re on an uneventful trip to the grocery store.  Wherever we are headed, God is setting up divine appointments along the way.  These appointments are harder to recognize closer to home because we are operating on autopilot.  Mark adds:

“Don’t be in such a hurry to get where you’re going that you miss the miracles along the way or the miracles that may be out of your way!”

With everything happening the last few days I felt this was appropriate. Don’t be I such a hurry that you miss small miracles along the way. God has put us all here for a reason and wants us to succeed right where we are.
