BRR Training Continues

Today 9 PAX posted for the usual Wednesday 6 to 7 mile route.  It was mentioned this morning that Wednesday’s sure have become hill days…  This one was definitely one of those.  My Garmin showed a 390 ft gain over 6.8 miles.  As awful as that sounds (and was), it makes it hard to imagine that there are 6 mile legs on the BRR that gain 1300 ft!

Conditions: 75 Deg w/69% humidity. With a slight breeze it didn’t feel so bad.

The Thang:  Leave SPC & head down Devine making a right on Laurens (hill 1). Left on Senate to Sumter.  Left & down to the bottom of Sumter.  Sumter turns into an incline that dumps you right on to Whaley (hill 2).  Right on Pickens & down Heyward.  From there we made a few misc turns – one on a dirt road – until we were dumped out on Rosewood.  Left & up Rosewood (hill 3).  We missed our turn on Saluda and ran 2 streets down to Waccamaw where we made a left & went to Heyward. Left on Heyward to Saluda (hill 4). Right & down Saluda until we reached wheat. There we made a U-turn and climbed back up Saluda (hill 5) to Seneca.  From Seneca we meandered down Edisto to Blossom and left on Heidt which dumps you on Devine (hill 6).  Back to SPC from there.

Overall it was a pretty tough route.  The hills didn’t stop half way thru the run.  They were with us  until the last mile.  T-Claps to Strudel & Costanza for sprinting it out at the end.  For the record I think Strudel took him by a hair.
