The Crypt puts a beatdown on Mother Nature

YHC would like to start by saying he is lucky, 2 weeks ago YHC put his name down to Q crypt on Jan, 8th, not knowing about the freezing cold temps that would take over the midlands that day.  Once YHC realized about the temp he got really excited, he scrapped the workout that he had in his head and started fresh.  YHC knew that only the toughest, most hardcore Pax would fight off the fartsack and brave the temps, so YHC created a tough hardcore workout to honor his brothers of the frozen gloom and 8 pax came out and put a Chuck Norris style beatdown on the Crypt

  • Finally my favorite the Bear Merkin across, at this point between Nikita’s screams and 1 pax requesting No Help take the Q, in fear of revolt YHC decided to move to the next location.  However, I couldn’t help but smile at the fact that the PAX were requesting Lex’s award winning Hardest Q take over for an easier workout! The Crypt is in trouble this year as we crank up the workouts, be ready for Pain!

Mosey to front of the School-(What do you know there just happens to be a kettlebell waiting for us)

Wall sits-kettlebell hold, all Pax stay in wall sit position while each Pax takes 30sec holding kettlebell extended.

Carolina Dry Docks x10

Balls to Wall hold- stay in postion until grunting and moaning echos off the school walls then recover

Mosey to hill- 4 squats at top, 4 burpees at bottom, then 3, 2, 1

Mosey to Mary-

YHC felt the PAX were sick of hearing his voice, so he turned over mary to them and they brought it!

Nikita- Russian Twist x25 with a speed up at the end I like it!

Blue Screen- Right and Left one arm plank rotations- great new exercise, Im gonna steal it and put it in my rotation

No Help- Hip Thrusters x20, No Help is not only worried about making Pax better, but keeping M’s happy too. What a great QIC!

TCLAPS- To all the Pax today, it was cold and the workout was hard and like always you impressed me and made YHC a little better!

Devo- Like always YHC is very informal with his Devos, but he loves to grab things from his daily life and share with his brothers.  This weekend YHC and his M went to see the movie Wild. For those that haven’t heard about it, it is a true story of the life of Cheryl Strayed.  A woman that had been beaten up in life and after she hit rock bottom, she decided to hike the Pacific Coast Trail (1100 miles) from Mexico to Canada to find herself and the movie tracks this personal journey.  After watching this movie, YHC took away that Cheryl took on a near impossible goal and completed it.  As 2015 starts, YHC not only challenged himself to take on big goals but all the pax to take on big goals in all three F’s.  with a strong group of men supporting each other we can conquer anything, set your goals high boys and don’t be afraid to share them with your pax. With that here are my goals- keep me accountable and don’t be afraid to challenge me to do more because YHC is getting better in 2015 with the help of my brothers.

1st F- 144 workouts this year.  Sub 20 5k. I want that 19 something so bad I can taste it. MudRun and by the end of the year doing a Spartan or Battlefrog hardcore event. I need more in 1st F don’t be afraid to call me out!

2nd F- Coffeteria after every Sat workout, that I’m not working. Join several Mudrun or other Team contest with my pax brothers. Get out to other locations to meet more Pax.

3rd F- Set aside 5 mins a day to reflect and pray.  I know it doesn’t sound big but for me it is.  Time is the most valuable currency in my life and I always to seem to run out, so deciding to take some and set it aside for God is a step in the right direction.
