Polar Bear Crawls and Burpees at sub-freezing Turning Point

17 pax eased into the frozen tundra of Turning Point this morning.  Who would have thunk that the number of pax would ever exceed the temperature at Turning Point?  Either it’s way too cold or Turning Point is catching on.  I prefer to go with the latter.  YHC figured what better way to beat the sub-freezing temperatures than to stay moving.

Condition: Temp: 16°, Wind Chill: “Snotcicle Cold”

Devotion – Due to the extreme cold, YHC opted to forego the “live” Devo, but still consider the most important part of the post.  Just too cold for a bunch of sweat drenched folks to be standing around shivering and I am a good patient that listens to the words of Dr. Pepto (see Twitter).  Please take to time to read the scripture and thoughts and take from it what you will.  PRAISE GOD!

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.  James 1:2-4

This morning was just a very small example of the trials that we as Christians face each day.  You could have easily stayed in the warm bed, but no, you made the decision to overcome and get better in the glory of God!  Each day we face much more serious trials and tribulations than we did this morning.  As we overcome them and don’t give in to the pressures our perseverance and endurance grows stronger.  It is often said that life isn’t fair.  If we can stop that thought and have the attitude that life is full tests on our faith, we can persevere enjoy this glorious gift of life that God has given us!  Stay strong in faith my brothers!
