Lego has been the AOQ of Shawshank for the past year. During this time, we battled through virtual workouts, bought swag in multiple colors, and had a solid COP in February. All in all, a great year. Seriously, Lego is a dude with a solid heart who helped me talk through a couple issues when I started F3 in late 2018. His leadership of the group was awesome whether it was leading the Rock, making sure the Q sheet was full, waiting for me to catch up during stride, or just encouraging whoever was out each morning. He played up this morning as having a big announcement and guys showed thinking we were having a food truck or something, instead, Lego handed off the shovel flag to YHC.
YHC woke up early on this beautiful, clear day that is just a bit on the nippy side. Shawshank has the reputation, for some unknown reason, as always being wet. Well, today it was dry. The temps had turned the normal moisture into a nice frost. Speaking of frost, Jack Frost was nipping at the nose and Jack Daniels nipping at the liver, it felt like winter out there. It was a perfect setting for a time of betterment with a group of guys who are always pushing each other in the right direction. No man left behind, no man left where you find him.
Weather: 28 and clear. No wind to speak of which was very, very nice.
1 minute warning, disclaimer, no FNG’s, open in prayer.
Mosey in one direction then a sudden about face for a mosey in the opposite direction.
COP:
SSH x 20 IC
LBAC x 10 IC (forward and backward)
OH Clap x 10 IC
TTT x 11 IC – one extra because they feel so good
The Thang:
Shawshank is blessed with 6 large light poles that span the length of 2 full soccer fields.
Directions were given, most folks understood, 2 were not listening and 1 pax was called a woman because he heard every word and paid attention. What a strange bunch of dudes.
Starting at end line – 10 SSH
Light pole 1 – 10 merkins, 10 squats, 10 bbsu’s – back to end line for SSH
Same exercises when you leave the end line and head out. On the way back, as you pass each light pole – 10 derkins, 10 squats, 10 mountain climbers (single count)
Suicide pattern adding one light pole each round. Lots of running, lots of merkins, lots of mumble chatter from the right of YHC.
If a pax was able to finish the cycle, he would have completed 360 merkins/derkins, 360 squats, 360 bbsu’s/mountain climbers, and 120 SSH. We came close but fell just short. Not a bad morning.
Mosey back to the shelter for 25 dips and the recover.

Devo: Psalm 23:1 – The Lord is my shepherd. We have a very big God who rules the universe but he is very much a personal shepherd to us. Lean on him because you’re never alone.
