With today being Thanksgiving YHC wasn’t sure how much participation the Arena would have today, but we had a strong showing of pax with three running 4.5 miles before hand. Wonder how many turkey sandwiches that equates to……
Training Wheels came in almost late. Said he barely made it, but “The Bird Is In The Oven,” which led to a train of mumble chatter and the title of today’s workout.
Lot of respect on hand today – outnumbered the younger crowd 6 – 4.
We did a lot of planking on this “Planksgiving” day which allowed everyone to share some of the things they are thankful for. We got in a little of all three F’s.
Being November 22, the numbers 11, 18 and 22 were the stars of the day.
The Thang:
Intro, Disclaimer, Prayer and Lord’s Prayer, Pledge of Allegiance.
Mosey around the parking lot, mixing in some high knees and butt kicks, stopping in the middle for COP.
The workout went something like this:
SSH X 22 IC
Merkins X 11 IC
LBAC X 11 IC – Forward & Reverse
Overhead Claps X 11 IC between the LBAC Forward and Reverse.
Squats X 22 IC
Imperial Walkers X 18 IC
Merkins X 11 on my count
TTT X 18 IC
Start at the bottom of the parking lot and bear crawl to the top.
Plank it up for about a minute. Several pax shared what they are thankful for while planking.
Lunge back down the hill.
Plank it up for about a minute. Several more pax shared what they are thankful for. Everyone eventually had their opportunity to share with the group what they are thankful for on this “Planksgiving.”
Mosey to corner of the parking lot. Merkins X 22 OYO.
Plank for about 45 seconds. More sharing of thankful thoughts.
Mosey to next corner. 22 BBSU OYO
Plank for about 45 seconds.
Mosey to next corner. 22 Squats OYO.
Plank for about 45 seconds.
Mosey to next corner. 11 burpees OYO
Plank for about 45 seconds.
Mosey to next corner for merkins X 22 OYO.

Mosey to middle of parking lot for some 11’s – run to bottom of parking lot and do one merkin. Run back to the top and do 10 squats. Rinse and repeat until completing 10 merkins and 1 squat.

Mosey to next corner. 22 BBSU OYO.

Mosey to last corner for 22 Squats OYO.
Plank until the conversation got out of hand.
Mosey back to the shovel flag for some Mary.
Russian Twist X 18 IC.
Turned it over to House for one exercise. Did some combination of a merkin and burpee X 10 IC.
Finished up with Flutterkicks for Cheech X 38 IC as YHC always does.
