Eerie Silence at The Arena

Romans 9:21 “Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for special purposes and some for common use?”

YHC likes to watch high school cross-country races. Sure, there are some really fast runners, but there are a lot of runners that don’t finish in the top ten. You don’t know how far those runners have improved since they started. All of them are trying to get better. When I was in Italy several years ago I visited a museum in Florence that had Michaelangelo’s statue David. It is a magnificent piece of work that is 17 feet tall. That museum also had several unfinished sculptures. You could see what might be a foot or an elbow or a knee starting to appear out of a rectangular block of marble.

As F3 members and Christians we share some of the same characteristics as the cross-country runners and the unfinished statues. While we all claim to be members of F3 and Christians, each of us are at different levels as we pursue the journey to perfection. Some of us might be able to do a few more merkins than others. Some can run faster than others. We are all at different stages in our development. As Christians we are certainly not perfect. We all undergo daily struggles as we try to do the right things. Keep that in mind in your daily lives – help each other get better so that one day we can all be the polished masterpiece that God would have us become.
