Running with Bricks! and Other Fun Stuff with Bricks!

YHC had the privilege of leading 5 men in the cold gloom of the ‘shed.  I stole (borrowed?) this workout from a twitter posting a few weeks ago. I thought it could be perfectly adapted for a solid on-campus workout.

Conditions: Cold-ish. I finally broke out the long sleeves. 51 degrees and clear.

The Thang:

From COT, a quick jog and circle up in lot next to the Meadowfield playground:

  • 31 SSH IC,
  • 30 arm circles IC (15 each way)
  • 30 mercans OYO

Mosey to the brickpile

Each grab two bricks.  Run, with bricks, back to the parking lot next to the Meadowfield playground.

 

  • 30 curls OYO (with bricks)
  • 30 LBC OYO (with Bricks)
  • 30 bench press OYO (with bricks)

Run with bricks to the top of the Circus

  • 30 curls OYO (with bricks)
  • 30 LBC OYO (with Bricks)
  • 30 bench press OYO (with bricks)

Run with bricks from top of Olde Knight towards woodland park (YHC’s joke about running with bricks to Martha’s hill was not well received. Note to self – need to work on delivery.)

At Olde Knight Parkway and Chambly Drive circle up –

  • 30 squat IC,
  • 30 side arm/front arm raises IC,
  • 30 monkey humper OYO

– down to Woodland park

At park:  10 pullups, 5 burpees.

 

Each Pax:

  • 20 BB situps with bricks
  • 20 dips,
  • 20 squats
  • Run around big tree at the end of the lot
  • Repeat above
  • Repeat above again

Plank until everyone finished.

Running out of time — Run with bricks on Olde Knight towards COT and then decide to return bricks to brick pile because of the dumb clock.

Moleskin:  More was planned. It will have to wait until I have another shot. A good time was had by all.  Strong showing by Pepper who sounded like he had a terrible cold.
