F3 Dominates the Lexington Half/10K/5K

30 or so Pax assembled in the gloom-less parking lot of First Baptist Church for the second annual Run Hard Lexington Half/10K/5K. The Pax were a little out of their element in the late morning hours of 7AM but the lack of gloom did not affect the effort levels. With a Ken Doll led Ball of Man the Pax were ready to give it their best. The half started at 7:30 with the 10K at 8 and the 5K at 8:30. When all was said and done the Pax all walked away proud. Almost every Pax YHC spoke to afterwards had a PR in time or distance and they all had that weary eyed look from having left it all out on the course.

The Weather: 46 with a slight breeze – can’t ask for much better running weather

The Routes: Half, 10K, 5K

Moleskin:

  • T-claps to all of the F3 Pax from Columbia, Lake Murray and Lexington. Excellent effort by all!
  • T-claps to Granola, Say What?, Outhouse and Doublemint for taking home the major hardware. Granola won second overall male masters in the half. Outhouse won first overall male masters in the 10K. Say What won third overall male masters in the 10K. Doublemint won 3rd overall male masters in the 5K. Since we are not allowed to post pics and words won’t do them justice you will have to trust YHC that the major hardware was REAL NICE!
  • T-claps to Fracture, Gump, Freon, Permit, Dufresne and YHC (Can you give yourself T-claps in a BB?) for bringing home some bling in the age group awards. In the half Fracture won 3rd in 30-34, YHC won 2nd in 40-44 and Gump took home 3rd in the 45-49 AG. In the 10K we had Freon, hot on the heels of Say What? winning 1st in the 40-44 and Dufresne taking home 2nd in the 55-59 bracket (Respect!!!). In the 5K Permit took 3rd in the 40-44 AG. The AG awards were really nice christmas ornaments. Now YHC can hang his ego on a Christmas tree.
  • T-claps to the encouragers who ran back to pick up brothers and motivate them to the finish line. This is the stuff F3 is made of.
  • It is really amazing watching the Pax get better and accomplish things they never thought they would have a short time ago. I am truly humbled to be brothers with this group of amazing people.
  • T-claps to the ladies of FIA as they had a very strong showing and may have outdone us numbers. We should steal a page from their playbook and do a little COP next year as it creates interest from other athletes and shows them that the things we do are not hard and can be done by anyone.
  • Cobains if I missed anyone. Post in the comments if you notice anyone missing.
  • Don’t stop posting to the run groups! There are many more races and training for the P200 needs to start now. Don’t lose what you have built up so far.
