The winds and rain of #CAT5

As stated many times before, one of the best things about the #CAT5 AMRAP, is the flexibility in the layout and direction of it. One thing that never changes is that it is hard and it will suck. The conditions were CAT5 like today with wind and rain. We took advantage of the opportunity and altered the course. As one pax was recovering from surgery, and another was prepping for GrowRuck, we opted to stay out of the open part of the stadium to minimize risk for injury. So, here’s what went down….

Conditions: 63 with wind and rain

Disclaimer & Prayer

The Thang:

YHC sent out instructions to have your block and/or ruck and be under the stadium in the concessions area promptly at 5:00. With a quick disclaimer and prayer, we were off. Climb the stairs leading to the top of the press box. Touch the first column, then back down (follow normal traffic patterns like driving. Stay to the right at all times. With 4 pax, this was never an issue).  Once back at the bottom, 21 merkins, 21 lbc’s, 21 curls for the girls with block or ruck, 21 shoulder presses with block or ruck. That’s one lap. Each lap means your reps go up by 1. YHC provided a strong music game which may or may not have drowned out any mumble chatter. Excellent effort was put out this morning.

Announcements:

GrowRuck this weekend – CAT will be closed. Suggest all pax go to GrowRuck convergence. Or, Shawshank, Brickyard, and Boneyard will be open and follow their normal schedules.

Devo: “You Sustained Them” – Nehemiah 9:21

“For forty years you sustained them in the desert; they lacked nothing, their clothes did not wear out nor did their feet become swollen.”

Another example here of God’s timing being perfect. As Choo Choo prepares for GrowRuck this weekend, and Puck continues to recover from surgery, YHC hopes these words were encouraging to them. Our prayers are with both of them.
