Devo:

Inspired by a study in Job lately, I discussed sufferings and struggles that we go through. Job lost everything- family, health, money- yet still worshiped God. Paul, sitting in prison, about to be killed- yet still worshiped God.

“The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever” 2 Timothy 4:18

It is all about perspective. Are we in a here and now perspective or do we view things in an eternal perspective. Some of the sufferings we have gone through, or know people who have gone through, are incomprehensible. Our sufferings, just like Job and Paul, are all filtered through God’s hands- why do some people have to suffer some things and others not- I can’t answer that…but I can tell you this. God promises an end to sufferings- sometimes that will be on earth, but, as shown above in 2 Timothy, we as believers will be rescued from all of our suffering eternally.

I realize it is way easier said that done…but are we looking at our current, worldly, temporary sufferings with an eternal perspective?
