Base Running @Turning Point to Celebrate Opening Day

Having spent many hours watching youth baseball practices and games already this spring, a little baseball theme was incorporated in the plan for this workout. Turns out today was MLB opening day, pure luck!

Conditions: dry, not too breezy, sweat pants sweatshirt and hood.

The Thang: disclaimer, bom, prayer

Mosey to teacher’s lot and circle up.

OH claps, IW, TTT, slo mo Squat, slo mo Merkin; all 15 IC

Mosey to block pile to pick your poison bricks or blocks. All did the harder thing and chose blocks.  Pax divided into two teams and took a spot along the first and third base line of a makeshift baseball field laid out in the yard near block pile.  Exercise began with 12 alternating block merkin oyo. Next Pax lined up at home ran down to first circled back to home and back to their block. Next 12 thrusters were added to the 12 abms. Pax then ran through 2nd and returned to blocks.  12 block swing were added to the 12 thrusters and 12 abms. Run through 3rd and back to blocks. Add 12 curls to 12 swings, 12 thruster and 12 abms. Run complete circuit around the bases and return to Blocks. Add 12 naepalms to 12 curls, 12 swings, 12 thruster and 12 abms. A second round was started increasing to 18 exercises. Worked through running through second and returned blocks to the pile.

Mosey to the shovel flag for Mary which consisted of; 5 BBSU IC, added 5 lbc ic followed 5 BBSU IC, then added 5 fk ic to LBC and BBSU, added 5 hd ic to BBSU, lbc, and fk. Finished with 5 cups it to finish a round of BBSU, LBC, fk, and hd ic

Aar: the good-baseball theme seemed to be well received, the bad-might need to mix in some squats or other leg exercises, what to do differently next time-lay out the diamond on the soccer fields

COT:

Count-o-rama followed by name-o-rama

Welcome FNG Conner Allen, celebrating his 40th birthday today, prefers the hot seat, awkward moment involving girls in 8th grade (a common theme I’m sure), accused of being grouchy in the am by neices.  Hotseat-Tripper-BreakfastClub-CareBear-sunshine bear-one of the clumsy bad news Bears players (since Buttermaker Eh’d)=CareBear

Devo:

2 Timothy 1:7, God did not give us a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind.

Didn’t anticipate telling the story would hit me like it did this morning but what I wanted to say was as followers of Christ we can walk in victory, so let’s step up and not let fear Rob us of opportunities.
