Moleskin- 3 Yrs ago, I showed up like every other FNG just looking to get back in shape not even knowing what I was missing in my life. The first year, I looked forward to the push of the 1st F. Being 10 yrs out of a College football career it was nice to have that competitive edge back and an outlet. We pushed ourselves to do bigger and crazier things and through that I got a taste of the 2nd F. That is when I decided it was time to slow down literally, instead of always pushing the pace from the front. I slowed down to the middle and talked and listened to the Pax, every workout every run I got to know these Men better. That is where I found the 3rd F. Growing up in a Christian home it was expected to always go to Church, but something about Church never sat right with me. I learned early on that I am a person of action, talk never went very far with me and that is why most would describe me as quiet. I always felt closest to God when doing mission work and farthest from when talking with a group of Christians about everyone’s perfect life and perfect kids. I felt like I was the only one struggling in this perfect community, even though I shouldn’t have been because I checked all the right boxes that one needs to be happy good job helping people, good wife and kids, nice home. But through F3 I met real men, men not afraid to say I’m struggling. Men of action that see problems in their marriage or their community and aren’t afraid to take action and ask for help. Men that stand by brothers in hard times no matter what the community thinks, and raise up those struggling. I have grown closer to God because of these Men and the example they have been to me. This group has made me a better person and I hope I have been able to do the same for another out there. After 3 years of F3 all I can say is Thank You to all the brothers I have sweated with and got to hear your story, you have made me a better person.
