Since the MLB All Star Game is sometimes known as the midpoint of summer, YHC wanted to give the PAX a summer-themed tour of campus.
Conditions: 75 and muggy but a slight breeze!
The Thang:
Warmup with SSH, Little Baby Arm Circles (forward, backward, raise the roof), Imperial Walkers all IC x 10.
Summer is a great time for a picnic so the PAX made their way to the pavilion/picnic tables a treat of 10 box jumps, 10 dips, 10 Bulgarian split squats, 10 merkins (incline, decline, regular) then a quick lap around the field. 3 rounds and the PAX had their fill.
Playing at the playground is great in the summer for kids of all ages. The PAX next moseyed over for 10 pullups and 10 iron crosses x 2 rounds.
Baseball is the national pastime and has been a summer activity for generations. The PAX celebrated the game (and country!) by partnering up at the foul line. Partner 1 ran to the flag pole in center field and back while partner 2 completed AMRAP ab exercises (flutter kicks, BBS, American hammers and Freddy Mercurys).
People in Columbia love to head to the mountains in the summer to beat the heat, so the PAX took a road trip all the way to Dumpster (mountain) Hill, where partner 1 ran down the “mountain” and back while partner 2 did burpees. 4 rounds of this and the PAX were ready for the end of summer.
By the end of summer people just love to sit and lay around the house, so the last few minutes were for wall sits and flutter kicks at the flag until time.
