Goodbye Legion

21 faithful came together today to close out our Legion bootcamp and AO at Hampton Memorial Park. We planted from Woodshed in April 2015 when a group of men led by Wingback desired a 1 full hour long weekday workout, expressly designed to maximize 1st F punishment. For 6 years, we got a twice-weekly beatdown, as each Q brought their worst, and there was no chance to plateau. Additionally, we had some great 2nd and 3rd F participation and growth as well.

   Sadly, its season of independent existence is now over. We are moving permanently to rejoin with our brothers at Woodshed. However, I hope we look at this as an opportunity to press onwards, as YHC will outline in the devo below. But first…

Disclaimer, and a warning that this will be fast-paced, and to keep working while waiting for the 6. There were no 10-counts.

Mosey to B-ball courts. Standard COP warmups.

Welsh dragon ascending ladder (bearcrawl, merkin, plankjack, shoulder taps, repeat until it burns).

Double Indian Run, quick to Cedar Terrace. One pain station along the way. Arrive to find our old friend, the Bagger Sled. AND HE BROUGHT A FRIEND!


3 teams, rotating stations-

Station 1-Sled push, length of parking lot and back (including uphill). 3 burpees at every pusher switch. #crowdpleaser

2-Legs- Bonnie Blair, Jungle Boi Squats, Monkey Humpers – 10 each, repeat until switch

3-Arms- Curls, tricep extension, KB swings – 10 each, repeat until switch

Double Indian to the General (2 volunteers for farmers blocks), 1 pain station stop along the way

Run to top, 3 Turkish Getups, run down, 3 burpees, repeat until time. #RookieQCommunicationProblems. Light plankwork with hip dips. Move to tennis courts.


Suicide x 3, including 1 backwards.

Bring Sally Up – Half-song only, Merkin position. Teddy Rolls.

Double Indian to stairs

Boxjump stairs x 3, Bulgarian Split Squats x10, Around the World Merkins. Move to road.

Mary, no rest between: Flutters, Iron Cross, Russian Twist, Pulseups, Boxcutters.

Burpees x 5, mosey to lot.

Don’t come here anymore

Devo: Philippians 3:12-14- “…Forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

   Just as this season at Legion is ending, it is not a time to become complacent. Not in our fitness life or in fellowship, but much more importantly focusing on our eternal life. We are called to be men and leaders and servants and do much in this life, and we should, but the primary goal is to serve the Lord in the way He calls us, now, for His glory, while laying up crowns and preparing ourselves for eternal service to Him. So press onwards and upwards men!


   Thank you men. It has been an honor and a privilege to post alongside you for 6 years, and to provide servant-leadership for the past 6 months. I will see you next week at Woodshed!
