21 Pax posted at Crusade this morning to help me start off his birthday and go ‘over the hill’ the right way.
Conditions: Garmin says it was 79 degrees. Garmin is an optimist.
The Thang:
Strongly worded Disclaimer/ Count-a-rama/ Prayer
The Route: Kenwood out and back. Right on 6, Right on Andrew Corley, Right on Kenwood, hit the back of the neighborhood, or turn around at 22 minutes and head back to the Shovel Flag. (At least that was the called route)
You’re guaranteed the opportunity to run hills at Crusade, no matter which way you go. Heck, the place is on top of a hill, so you’re at least finishing uphill. Of all the hills around the AO, the hill coming out of Kenwood and back on to Midway is the toughest one for me, at least mentally. So, on this day when I officially go ‘over the hill’, that seemed like the right hill to make sure I could get over.

Count-a-rama (version 2)/ Name-o-rama
Moleskin: Crossing the half-century mark seems like it should come with some words of wisdom, but the only good ones that I could think of were the things I was telling myself over the last mile of the run: ‘don’t look down, don’t look back, keep looking ahead. Keep your form (keep doing the right things) and keep striding forward. Needless to say, I don’t just tell myself this during runs, but it was what came to me.
