A couple of years ago, my family visited Gettysburg and I incorporated a little history lesson into the beatdown when we returned from the trip. It is important for us to know our past and where we’ve come from, so I brought it back this morning and re-acquainted the Pax. Additionally, this would be another opportunity to celebrate America and remember those who sacrificed.
Conditions: Really Warm and Muggy
Just to get us started…
50 burpees with a partner for the fifty states.
Mosey to hill by Gym:
Day 1 – Union troops hold onto the high ground, but are pushed to opposite end of town by Confederates.
Each partner will perform 50 merkins and 50 squats. While one partner is performing merkins/squats, the other runs up the hill and back down. Continue until all reps performed.
Mosey to Goat Hill:
Day 2 – Little Round Top is defended by Union forces as Confederates charge up hill. Hand-to-hand combat is brutal.
At Goat Hill, Pax bear crawl to first sign, imperial walkers to second sign, crawl bears to third sign. Once at the top of the hill, charge down hill
Mosey to the hill above Hops’ Garden
Day 3 – Pickett’s charge. Thousands die in less than an hour.
Two pax will push the boat up the hill while the rest plank. Alternate until all have pushed the boat
Mosey to Peachey’s Hill
Day 4 – Retreat and regroup
One partner assumes People’s chair while the other goes down the hill and performs lunges uphill, then inch-worm, then broad jump. Rotate until completion
Mosey to Flag
