8 dads checked the weather and decided that they were going to fight back the covers in the fartsack and the monsoon that had come. YHC and his 2.0 prayed the night before that the weather would clear up briefly for the workout, and when he checked his weather app he found that the prayer had been answered. There was about a 30 minute break in the rain while eight F3 dads lead by example and spent cherished time with their 2.0’s.
YHC wasn’t sure how many would show up though because of the rain, but when he arrived at the AO other dads trickled in for a great workout. It also helps that the AO has a great place to go for rainy days, YHC calls it a Thunderdome from his Marine Corps days but everyone else knows it as the batting cage.

Devo
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father
and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— “so that it may go
well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” Fathers, do not
exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction
of the Lord. (Ephesians 6:1-4 NIV)
Continue to lead 2.0’s by example, show them why we come out and better ourselves with F3 and the importance of leadership. Be a difference maker and also remember the reason for this season, it is not just another holiday. It is the day we celebrate the birth of our savior. Take advantage of this team spent with your kids, your family, and your friends…put the phones, tablets, and other stuff away.
Workout today was dedicated to SSgt James Malachowski, USMC (KIA 20 March 2011). SSgt Malachowski had two sons and a pregnant wife when he passed. YHC remembers his sacrifice, and remembers that he needs to value the time spent with his kids. Semper Fi #Respect
