The Crucible goes for a Marathon 26.2

9 pax set out to accomplish one the most CSAUP things that F3 Lexington has ever done. Although 2 did not complete it due to injury, the 7 remaining RUCKTARDS finished the 26.2 mile ruck through all Lexington city AOs. Graveyard, Boneyard, Crypt, Turning Point, Shawshank, The Hollow, and SnakePit.

Conditions; 78 at the start 98 at the finish

BOM

Starting Point was Graveyard at 4:30am.  We took the loop around River Bluff’s Campus to Boneyard and Crypt. Through the middle entrance down Corley Mill Road we turned left on Mill Stream Road. After 3 or so miles we turned left on Hope Ferry and then a right on Midway Road. We then hiked up to Turning Point. After a mile and a half we set out for Shawshank. 7 1/2 miles later, we caught up with the pax at Shawshank. The pax were great in supporting us so T claps to them. There we took a break to check our feet and refuel. This is where 2 of our pax listened to there bodies and had to call it quits. They hated it and so did we, but the show must go on. After we said our goodbyes, we trekked on to the Hollow and after 3 miles we made it. At this point (14 miles) everyone was hurting. Our last stop was SnakePit, so we knew we had to keep moving forward, so off we went. The next 12.2 miles were awful. The Heat, no shade, and the SUCK. But the men of F3 carried on down Pisgah Church Road, through Pleasant Hill Schools. There we turned left onto Rawl Road for 1 mile. After Rawl, we turned right on to Barr Road for 1 3/4 for a pitt stop in Dunphys neighborhood. At this point we were at 18 3/4 miles and all of us were thinking about calling it quits. Not the men of F3. We were only a little over 6 miles away, so we carried on. Out of Dunphys neighborhood, we took Bonhomme Road (a dirt Road) 3/4 of a mile to Two Notch Road. There we turned left on Two Notch road for 1 mile, turn right onto Patrick Drive. After short of a 1/2 a mile, we turned right on to Sease Hill Road. From there we hiked 1 1/2 miles to Highway 6 (seemed like 10 miles). Once we hit HWY 6, we knew we were only a few miles away. As we started on the long and treacherous up hill battle of HWY 6, one of our own got a little over heated and the men of F3 stepped in to take care of there own. After about 15 min, we gathered ourselves and carried on up the hill for 2 1/2 more miles. Once we reached the entrance to Walmart, we knew we had this Crucible beat. Another 2 miles up and through the parking lot and a right on Platt Springs road. We had made it to Snake Pit. Completed 26. 2 miles  There we rejoiced in Celebration. The Celebration only lasted for a 2 minutes because of the rain. T claps to Feron and Rocking Chair for taking the back of the truck during the rain storm.

As I look back on the great accomplishment, I can not thank the men of F3 enough for helping me pull through this thing. This is something that no one could do alone and I thank each and everyone of you.

F3 for life
