Coming off the GoRuck HTB in NYC, YHC knew he would be in recovery mode this weekend. Seeing that the Q sheet was open, I grabbed the lead today to make sure I got a chance to work out any sore muscles. I chose to do another run of the 52 card pick up routine and honor the 13 fallen servicemen recently killed in the suicide attack. 3 other hard charges chose to join.
minute warning, disclaimer, prayer
- mosey to the blocks, while doing some moving warmup exercises
We made our way to the blockpile where DooDah found some water to play in. 70’s music was the entertainment for the morning.
52CardPickup, 13 rounds per set, 1 body weight and 1 block exercise per round, the card decided the count (ace = 1, king = 13)
Round | Body Weight | Block |
1 | HRR Merkins | CFTGs |
2 | Burpees | Shoulder Presses |
3 | In-n-Outs | BBSUs |
4 | Plankjacks | Thrusters |
5 | Low Plank (10s per #) | Block Swings |
6 | BBSUs | Tricep Exts |
7 | Squats | Block Squats |
8 | Bobby Hurleys | Bench Presses |
9 | Walking Lunges | Manmakers |
10 | Bonnie Blairs | Blockees |
11 | Imperial Walkers | Alternating Block Merkins |
12 | Mountain Climbers | Farmers Carry |
13 | Flutter Kicks | Chest Presses |
We made it through 3 sets, 39 cards, for an average of 3x2x91=546 reps. The final 13 cards were left untouched for the fallen servicemen.
We returned blocks and got back to the SF. We had a lot of fun, a lot of mumblechatter, and all in all a good time!
